OST TRAINSPOTTING - (EL DISCO DEL DIA, SEMANA DE SOUNDTRACKS)

" As soundtrack to the movie adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s disturbing novel about a bunch of young drug-addicts in a grimily depicted Edinburgh, Trainspotting became one of the most popular soundtracks of the ‘90’s (besides Pulp Fiction, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot and a handful of other ones), and not only because the music fits the movies’ obsession with drugs and getting’ high so well (though the details have become blurry), but also because it works pretty good as an album on its own. Notwithstanding the presence of songs by legendary proto-punks Lou Reed (the creepy “Perfect Day” – I mean, you have no idea how often I’ve overheard people proclaiming it to be one of the most romantic songs they ever heard) and Iggy Pop (the hard-rocking, percussion-heavy party anthem “Lust for Life” that kicks off the album on a high (in several senses of the word) note, and the sinister crawl of “Nightclubbing”), the album’s mainly a typically British affair. Obviously influenced by the blooming club scene of the early nineties, or otherwise filled with trippy dirges that suggest they’re to be played during drug binges. A nice example of this is Brian Eno’s lovely lullaby “Deep Blue Day,” a song so soothing and ambient that it suggests the perfect peacefulness of a womb (nah, I haven’t taken any drugs as I sit here)".
NO OLVIDEN SINTONIZARLO EL DIA DE HOY EN PUNTO DE LAS 14 HRS.
